Lihue City Guide
Lihue, Located on the south east facing shore of Kauai, is the islands largest city. Kauai's main airport, seaport, and public transit hub can all be found in Lihue. In addition to being the center of transportation, Lihue also offers the most shopping dining and accommodation choices. Some of the adventure activities that can be found in and around Lihue include, horseback riding, ATV rentals, biplane tours, and helicopter tours.Lihue is the proud home of not one but two world class 18 hole golf courses.
Like many Hawaiian towns Lihue grew up around large sugar cane plantations, the oldest and largest of which is still in operation as a farm providing many different food crops and livestock to Kauai. Lihue is also home to the Kauai Museum, which offers visitors and residents alike with an opportunity to experience Native Hawaiian culture as it exists o Kauai, as well as the islands more modern history of sugar cane farming.
