Wailuku City Guide
Like other picturesque Hawaiian villages, Wailuku has all but completely dodged the wave of modern development that has swept the mainland US in the past few decades, and still retains tha magical "Old Hawaii" feeling. Although the town itself is quiet and little developed it is just down the road from Kahului so the Airport is easily accessible as are other modern conveniences.
IO Valley State Park lies just north of town. The park is visually stunning and also contains significant Hawaii History. The shop keepers in Wailuku rise with the sun and close early so if you want to check out thier shopps plan an early morning.
