Casual Hawaiian Style Dining on Waikiki Beach
Located oceanfront on Waikiki Beach at the Outrigger hotel, this popular, casual restaurant is named after surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku. Duke is revered in Hawaii as the father of modern surfing. The restaurant and Barefoot Bar is a popular hangout for surfers, locals, and out of town visitors. The place is decorated with old Hawaiian pictures and posters, surfboards and a collection of Duke memorabilia. On the weekends they have live Hawaiian music and tableside live performers per request.
This spot is very happening so it is wise to make lunch or dinner reservations, otherwise the walk-in wait time can up to to 1 hour and up at times. However, there are plenty of shopping and local attractions close by to keep you busy while you wait.
